LAREDO, Texas – Saturday night in Laredo, Texas, Ederson Santos (Ilha Solteira, Brazil) reached a crucial career milestone, going a perfect 3-for-3 to win his first PBR (Professional Bull Riders) event, victorious at the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour’s PBR Laredo.

The 36-year-old first put points on the board in Round 1 when he covered Lefty (Dana White/DD Bucking Bulls) for 81 points.

While he began Round 2 eleventh on the event leaderboard, he surged fourth ahead of the championship round after topping Not Yet (Obernagel/Sho-Me Rodeo) for 86 points.

Santos then overtook the event lead when he delivered what proved to be the event-winning ride in the championship round, teaming with Cooter Brown (Cash Money Bucking Bulls) for a tour stop best 88 points.

Santos left the Lone Star State having earned 133 Velocity Global points.

Daniel Keeping (Montague, Texas) was second, garnering 96 Velocity Global points.

Keeping, who was a member of the 2023 PBR Teams Champion Texas Rattlers in the separate PBR Teams league, got off to a quick start, winning Round 1 with an 86.5-point ride aboard Hard Shot (Barrett/D4).

The reserved Texan then solidified his position atop the event leaderboard when he rode Beau Bear (Twisted Horns Cattle Co./Hearn) for 87 points in Round 2.

In the championship round, however, Keeping was denied the event win when he was sent airborne by Red Bull (Obernagel/Sho-Me Rodeo) in a swift 1.6 seconds.

Third was the Austin Gamblers’ Jean Fernandes Pereira (Crixas, Brazil).

After Periera rode Life Flight (Twisted Horns Cattle Co./Hearn) for 85.5 points in Round 1, his momentum ended abruptly in Round 2 when he was dispatched by Walking Tall (Burkham Contracting Inc.) in 5.48 seconds.

Quick to rebound, Periera concluded his outing in the Palmetto State with a qualified ride when he bested Knockin Boots (Richardson Land & Cattle Co.) for 87 points in the championship round.

Periera left Sames Auto Arena with 71.5 points.

Brothers Adriano Salgado (Batatais, Brazil) and Thiago Salgado (Navirai, Brazil) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, both going 2-for-3.

The Austin Gamblers’ Adriano Salgado earned 49.5 Velocity Global points for his 85-point ride atop Crossin’ The Delta Lina (Dana White/DD Bucking Bulls) in Round 1, and 84.5-point score on Little Bit (Mason Bucking Bulls) in Round 2. Salgado failed to convert in the championship round when he was tossed by El Chapp (Mason Bucking Bulls) in 2.44 seconds.

The Florida Freedom’s Thiago Salgado was awarded 43.5 Velocity Global points after he delivered matching 84.5-point rides in the opening two rounds, covering Money Maker (Mason Bucking Bulls) and Country Roads (Just For Kicks/J-M/DD). Salgado was unable to complete a perfect performance when he was bucked off by Yellowstone (5S Ranch) in 3.9 seconds in the final round.

The PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour next travels to North Charleston, South Carolina, on Feb. 2-3, and Bakersfield, California, on Feb. 3.

CURT PBR North Charleston at North Charleston Coliseum gets underway on Friday, Feb. 2 at 8 p.m. EST and concludes on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. EST. PBR Bakersfield at Mechanics Bank Arena begins on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. PST.
